Acupressure - Jin Shin Do
Acupressure: Acupressure is based on the same points and meridians as in acupuncture. In acupressure, however, these areas are stimulated with finger and thumb pressure and massage, rather than with needles. Acupressure is noninvasive, simple, and usually one session lasts about an hour. Acupressure is focused on different pressure points on the surface of the body which may relate to the persisting symptom.
Acupressure relieves stress and tension, relaxes the mind and body, increases blood circulation, aids in removal of toxic wastes, provides relief from aches in the head, neck, or shoulders, aids in healing of injuries, increases energy levels, increases overall feeling of well being, and decreases labor pains.
Many East Asian martial arts use acupressure for self-defense and health purposes. These same points used to relieve stress or pain, can be used against an oncoming attacker or opponent. Applying pressure to these points can be used to manipulate or incapacitate an opponent.
Martial artists regularly massage their own acupuncture points to remove blockages and thereby enhancing their circulation and flexibility while keeping their pressure points "soft" or less vulnerable to an attack.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture: More than 2,000 points have been identified centuries ago by Chinese practitioners. By using thin, surgical needles, energy is summoned or freed from the body.
Acupuncture has been a major part of primary healthcare in China for the last 5,000 years. It is used for a wide range of purposes from prevention and treatment of disease, to pain relief and anesthetizing patients.
Acupuncture has been shown to stimulate the immune system and positively affect the circulation, blood pressure, rhythm, and stroke volume of the heart, while also helping with the secretion of the gastric acid and production of red and white cells.

Feldenkrais Method
Feldenkrais Method: The Feldenkrais Method is a body-centered learning process that uses gentle, guided movements in order to stimulate the brain to reorder the neuro-motor functions of the body. This may improve posture, flexibility, and coordination, as well as aiding in the release of chronic tension. This system combines stretching, exercise and yoga to to help people to become more aware of movement patterns and to encourage proper body movement.
Advocates claim the Feldenkrais Method often improves movement-related pain (i.e. pain in backs, knees, hips, shoulders), and leads to better functioning in cases of stroke or cerebral palsy.
Usually in a group setting the teacher verbally directs students through movement sequences designed specifically for the needs of the group. There are more than 1000 Awareness Through Movement lessons (designed by the Feldenkrais Method).
Feldenkrais fist began teaching his method of movement awareness in Tel Aviv to about 13 inspired pupils. Later on Feldenkrais relocated to the United States and began teaching his method in the early 1970s in his own studio. He primarily worked in San Francisco and Amherst, Massachusetts, although his method and teaching began spreading throughout the holistic community and beyond what he originally dreamt.

Holistic
Holistic: A holistic approach to healing recognizes that the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical elements of each person comprise a system. By working with this systems approach the cause of an illness is targeted, rather than just the symptoms. The basic principle is considering a whole thing or being to be more than a collection of parts; Treating the whole person rather than just the Symptoms of a disease. A holistic approach is interested in the whole of the human condition: past, present, and future; biology, society, language, and culture.
Holistic comes from the greek word Holism stemming from holon meaning entity. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, holism is defined as "The tendency in nature to form wholes that are greater than the sum of the parts through creative evolution."
A holistic approach at times can include the idea that many service users have needs which fall beyond the current limits of social care services and are better yet met with holistic medicine and a holistic approach centered more directly on the whole-being of a patient and not just the symptoms.

Thai Massage
Thai Massage: This massage originated in India over 2500 years ago. The theoretical basis for this style of bodywork is the existence of the energy body which includes 72,00 sen or energy lines through which life force flows. Through compressions, pressure on specific points and stretches to release blockages, a free flow of energy is restored. Thai massage is performed on a futon over clothing. No oil or lotion is used. This is one of the world's oldest healing modalities. It is a blend of massage, acupressure, energy work, and deep and gentle yoga stretches. The client wears comfortable clothing and lies on the floor on a soft mat. Benefits from a session may include: releasing tight joints, stretching muscles, increasing range of motion, and reducing stress. Thai massage is known in Thailand as Nuat phaen boran, correctly translates only as ancient massage or traditional massage, and also known as Thai ancient massage, traditional Thai massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.)
Traditional Chinese medicine: The current name for an ancient system of health care from China. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is based on a concept of balanced qi (pronounced "chee"), or vital energy, that is believed to flow throughout the body. Qi is proposed to regulate a person's spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical balance and to be influenced by the opposing forces of yin (negative energy) and yang (positive energy). Disease is proposed to result from the flow of qi being disrupted and yin and yang becoming imbalanced. Among the components of TCM are herbal and nutritional therapy, restorative physical exercises, meditation, acupuncture, and remedial massage.
